Of course it is. Do you know what you're going to order?

[ Her laugh makes him a bit less surly about the fact she's called out his maladaptive coping mechanisms. ]

I do, yes.

[ He points out the item on the menu, since she'll need to order for him. It seems such a small thing, now... he remembers bristling and starving himself for days back when he first arrived, lest he have to kneel at camp. ]

_{[Raising her hand she flags down the waitress, pointing out their order. It's thankfully a quick and painless process.]}

If there is one thing I am excited for in this place it's the food they have. There are so many things to try.

I must admit, that's been one of my favorite things here.

[ He's excited to watch Sypha experience the range of cuisines as well. ]

I'm interested in what these 'French fries' will be.

They're potatoes cooked in oil until crisp. And of course I will.

_{[She's clearly pleased that he's willing to share his grub with her, and soon enough both their plates are set down in front of them.]}

This smells amazing...

[ The first thing Trevor does is cut Sypha a hearty portion of his own dinner, which as they're at a seafood restaurant and he's gotten pretty adventurous with food, is blackened catfish. He sets it on the edge of her plate before trying a bite himself -- glad to find it's not too spicy so she won't be shocked. ]

_{[It doesn't take Sypha too long to dig in, clearly enjoying every bite she takes both of her own dinner and what Trevor has offered up. Between the fish and the fries she's found herself in a state of bliss.]}

How do they make it taste so good? I could eat this forever.

Cooking in these times is an art I haven't yet mastered.

[ But he might ask someone to teach him so he can impress her, now, seeing how much she enjoys modern food. ]

Ah...

_{[Cooking. That's right. She's going to have to learn how to do that...at least the modern way.]}

I only know how to cook over an open fire.

Maybe we can learn together.

Maybe we should find a tutor.

That's...actually a great idea.

_{[Don't mind her as she shoves another fry into her mouth.]}

Surely we can find someone who will be willing to show us how.

Mm, probably. It's pretty interesting, this 'network'. I never would have thought it was possible to communicate with people in such a way. It's quite amazing.

_{[And mind blowing. Putting her focus back on her meal she begins to finish up what's on her plate, relaxing back in her chair once all that's left are fishbones on the plate.]}

All of the technology here is, but yes -- the network combines several different social phenomenons at once. A community board and a distance mirror, for many people at once all in real time.

[ He smiles at her again as he finishes his own plate, setting his fork down. ]

Just the thing after an active day, hm?

Although now I'm not sure I want to stand up again.

Am I going to have to carry you home?

[ He's joking, but also perfectly capable, and no one would bat an eye. ]

_{[And to prove as much she pushes herself up to stand.]}

[ He passes her the currency once again -- not minding paying for her for awhile, as he's working and relatively 'kept' now that he's in a contract. But once she's paid he's standing as well, guiding her back towards her tower. ]

_{[Taking the money she pays the waitress, happy to hand it over. Whatever change she's given she passes back to Trevor once they're out of the restaurant.]}

How long do you think it'll take to walk back?

Not too long. If you're tired we could take the train, it loops back towards the elevator.

_{[She grabs his arm, tugging him forward...in the wrong direction. It's fine. She doesn't know where she's going.]}

[ He doesn't blame her for being confused, given the meandering path they took to get here, but steers her back the right way. ]

_{[She didn't. Thankfully it doesn't take too long for the two of them to make their way back to her apartment. Door unlocked she kicks off her sandals, moving to flop herself down onto the sofa.]}
